This role involves client-facing forwarding control, handling purchase orders, and managing the entire forwarding and clearing process. The role provides comprehensive training in freight forwarding within an order management environment.
Subscribe to Job Alerts Responsibilities Request special attendance for urgent shipments from forwarding offices when necessary Follow up with carriers and overseas offices to ensure cargo is flown or sailed as booked Update Client Controllers on shipment statuses Manage the flow of orders within the order management process for the client Liaise with DSV offices to ensure cargo is customs cleared and delivered before the estimated date Expedite short landings or damages and follow up on outstanding consignments Update the Client Master Status Report Meet with Client Controllers weekly at the Client’s premises Address queries from both DSV and the Client Assist with DSV invoice queries and rectify issues Support the Continuous Operations Lead (COL) in updating all Standard Operating Procedures Assist COL with any ad hoc inquiries or projects requested by the client
Requirements Experience in Freight forwarding (advantage) Matric (essential) Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Logistics / Maritime Own reliable transport Unendorsed driver’s license Ability to work overtime and weekends Skills & Competencies Knowledge of current INCOTERMS® 2010 Knowledge of international logistics Knowledge of Order Management Ability to work within a team Well-organized with work Ability to work under pressure (internal and external) Think outside the box Take ownership of tasks and situations Well-presented Attention to detail Team player
