We are looking for candidates based in Brackenfell (Cape Town).
Responsibilities
Responsible for cleaning up the site / workshop after task is completed or at the end of the day which comes first, where the job was carried out and make sure it's free off all consumables used to perform the job (masking tapes, tins, etc).
To adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
To orally report any deviations, irregulateries and non-conformance's.
Responsible to perform any other reasonable task assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager and regional manager.
Perform all field and laboratory work including sampling, calculations and performing test methods accurately.
Ensure discipline within his/her assigned department.
Requirements
Minimum Grade 12.
Proficiency in English.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite).
NQF 4 Civil/Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
Drivers license for Field Work positions.
Sampling and preparation experience (advantageous).
Administration experience (advantageous).
Fieldwork (densities, layer / stockpile sampling, manufacture and handle concrete cubes, DCP, Ring and Ball test (road surfaces), sand patch, on-site viscosity tests, sampling of Asphalt, seals, concrete / aggregate.
Do all calculations in full related to the tests mentioned above.
Control laboratory activities such as quality control under supervision.
Physically fit and willing to work with, move and pick up samples when required.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional Computer Literacy (use of MS Office suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
An affinity for data analysis.
Strong research skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in completing tasks.
