Description

The Sweeper Underground will assist production teams by sweeping ore and mud reclamation underground at the Modder East Business Unit. This position involves working in confined spaces and adhering to high safety standards. Successful candidates will receive training at the company’s Training Centre, with potential for a permanent contract based on performance.

Responsibilities

•  Work on a rotating shift underground, supporting production teams with sweeping of ore and mud reclamation.
•  Remain vigilant and observant of any unsafe conditions, materials, or equipment to ensure adherence to company standards and procedures.
•  Perform all work according to specified standards, specifications, and instructions.
•  Comply with MHSA standards and uphold Gold One Group Limited’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”

Requirements

•  Grade 11 or equivalent ABET Level.
•  Must reside in the Ekurhuleni Region.
•  Proficient in English; knowledge of any other official language is beneficial.
•  Must not have Claustrophobia.
•  Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
•  Deadline-driven and able to work under pressure.
•  Able to work underground.
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•  South African Citizenship.
•  Clear Criminal Record.
•  Medically fit, as declared by the Occupational Health Centre.
