Description

The Night Waiter is responsible food and beverages in Room Service and, if required, Function areas in a friendly, fast and efficient manner at Night (10pm - 7am Shift). The position is primarily concerned with two main functional activities: front of house and stock.

Responsibilities

•  Greet and Seat Customers: Welcome guests as they arrive, guide them to their tables, and present menus.
•  Take Orders: Accurately take food and beverage orders from customers, ensuring any special requests or dietary requirements are noted.
•  Serve Food and Beverages: Deliver orders to the table promptly and correctly, and serve dishes in the appropriate order.
•  Knowledge of Menu: Stay informed about the menu items, ingredients, and specials to answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
•  Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Check in with customers throughout their dining experience to ensure they are satisfied and address any concerns.
•  Clear Tables: Remove used dishes, glasses, and utensils from tables after customers finish, and prepare the table for the next guest.
•  Handle Payments: Present the bill to customers, process payments, and return change or payment slips as needed.
•  Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure tables, chairs, and the surrounding area are clean and tidy.
•  Coordinate with Kitchen Staff: Communicate any special requests or order modifications to the kitchen and ensure timely preparation of meals.
•  Uphold Hygiene Standards: Follow health and safety regulations, particularly in food handling and serving.

Requirements

•  Matric.
•  Previous Restaurant experience essential.
•  Hands on Problem Solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
•  Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
•  Effective communication with members of staff as well as Guests of the Hotel.
•  Honest and trustworthy beyond approach.
