Description

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks, supporting the engineering department on projects, reacting to breakdowns, and assisting with equipment overhauls. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and flexibility to fit into various teams and shift schedules.

Responsibilities

•  Perform daily maintenance work.
•  Collaborate with the engineering department to complete projects.
•  React quickly to breakdowns.
•  Conduct daily inspections and provide feedback.
•  Assist artisans in overhauling and assembling equipment.
•  Follow safety rules and regulations.
•  Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
•  Be adaptable and move between teams as required.

Requirements

•  Grade 12 certificate.
•  N2 qualification (advantageous).
•  Strong communication skills at all levels.
•  Ability to prioritize tasks.
•  Safety-conscious.
•  Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime.
•  Welding or boiler-making experience (advantageous).
