Description

Security measures designed to deny unauthorised access to facilities, equipment and resources, and to protect personnel and property from damage or harm through multiple layers of interdependent systems which include security guarding, protective barriers, locks, access control protocols, and many other techniques as well as ensure the implementation of and adherence to security policies, procedures, objectives and client needs through surveillance.

Responsibilities

•  Follow work instructions.
•  Execute control room duties.
•  Work according to applicable policies and procedures.
•  Conduct security tasks to required quality standards.
•  Conduct ad hoc security assignments such as searches and checks.
•  Conduct glovebox clearance.
•  Conduct glove and seal checks.
•  Clear dispatches.
•  Set and check strongroom timelocks.
•  Conduct patrols and do alarm tests.
•  Handle/assist in emergency situations.
•  Conduct surveillance duties.
•  Ensures comprehensive, accurate reporting and reliable interpretation of observations.

Requirements

•  Grade C accreditation with the PSIRA.
•  Clear criminal record.
•  Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•  Basic knowledge of security systems and equipment.
•  Able to stand or walk for extended periods.
