Report to Protection Services Officer when task is completed. Identify and report all irregularities to Assistant Protection Services Officers. Apply recognized work, legislative and security standards. Ensure that security tasks are completed to required quality standards. Conduct allocated patrols or checkpoint duties including adhoc security assignment such as searches and roadblocks. Assist with crowd management during community unrest or other emergency situations. Competent to drive security vehicle when there is a need. Gather information that could assist with risk management. Take appropriate action on observation or risk situation. Respond to security alarms and take appropriate action. Enforce and monitor access controls. Take appropriate action when a security issue is observed. Conduct surveillance activities to support investigation when required. Effective use of allocated equipment such as radios and telephones. Effective tow way communications with team members and visitors. Promote security awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying problems with work practices. Maintains facilities, equipment and personal image up to a high standard of presentation. Participate in required meetings including safety, health, environmental initiatives. Gathers information through cultivating sources. Arrests all transgressors within the law. Attend disciplinary enquiries as a witness/compliant. Supports and assist Patrolpersons when there is a need.
Requirements Grade 12 (RPL can be applied to recognize skills obtained through short courses and experience). 2 years’ experience in Security environment or equivalent. Handle of Shotgun for Business Purposes. Armed response course. Registered with the PSIRA on grade C. Counter Industrial Action practical. Valid driver’s license code 08/10/14. Code 8 Armoured Vehicle driving course may be an advantage. Valid public drivers permit may be an advantage. Supervisory experience advantageous.
