Support customer service at point of sale while ensuring a world-class shopping experience. Record customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system according to company policies & standard operating procedures, with zero tolerance toward inaccuracies & elimination of fraud risk.

Responsibilities

•  Adhere to Policies: Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
•  Professional Relationship: Build and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
•  Report Issues: Report customer complaints and compliments to the supervisor or management.
•  Customer Turnover: Maintain awareness of customer turnover rates.
•  Sales and Promotions: Stay informed about current sales and promotions.
•  Risk Awareness: Ensure safety for colleagues and customers.
•  Communication: Implement Dis-Chem's 5-star communication principles.
•  Cash Management: Be responsible for handling cash flow.
•  Approvals: Ensure all line voids and price changes are approved and documented.
•  Returns and Exchanges: Handle merchandise exchanges and returns when authorized.
•  Transactions: Process all types of payments accepted by Dis-Chem.
•  Loyalty Programs: Manage loyalty card transactions, including partner programs.
•  Security of Cash: Securely handle and store cash as per SOPs. Personal Codes: Keep personal codes and passwords secure and change them regularly.
•  Stock Handling: Ensure all items are scanned and paid for before leaving the store.
•  Till Security: Securely manage all cash within the till.
•  Confidentiality: Handle daily takings confidentially and only discuss with management.
•  Alertness: Be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior.
•  Customer Queries: Address queries related to store merchandise.
•  Security Policies: Adhere to Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures.

Requirements

•  Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
•  Experience: At least 6 months of experience in cashier/till operations.
•  Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office.
•  Numerical Skills: Strong numerical skills.
•  Language Skills: Strong command of the English language.
•  Customer Service: Basic customer service skills.
•  Availability: Willingness and ability to work retail hours.
